• The main purpose of this Act is to clarify and consolidate Victoria’s enduring powers of attorney laws; create the role of supportive attorney; and improve the protections against abuse of enduring powers of attorney.
  • The new Powers of Attorney Act has brought together the old ‘enduring power of attorney (financial) and ‘enduring power of guardianship’ into a single ‘enduring power of attorney’. This will allow people to arrange management of financial and personal matters.
